At Lucinity, we design, build, and deliver technology solutions focused on humans. We aim to free up their valuable time and allow them to focus on anti-money laundering and compliance.

At the AML & FinCrime Tech Forum, I was fortunate to deliver a keynote on the future of AML through technology and what we at Lucinity do to Make Money Good.

AML in the 21st century

Lucinity is a SaaS company focused on transforming AML through AI-powered innovation. We build end-to-end solutions for compliance: from transaction monitoring (using continuous risk rating and intelligent workflows) to SAR and performance management. But we never use AI for AI’s sake or position the machine power to overshadow human expertise or ingenuity.

As a team, we have over a hundred years of experience, and our fields complement each other as we share our expertise in regulatory compliance, translating the law into data science, and build the solution through best-in-class engineering delivered by always-on and secure technology.

This interplay of specialists (both at Lucinity and in financial organizations who use our platform) building a shared understanding of how we should apply technology to help support humans is what we call ‘Human AI.’

The future of AML

Imagine what AML compliance would look like if we could start afresh today.

Picture an AML solution with

  • explainable data models centred around behaviours,
  • self-service capabilities to empower and give back control to compliance,
  • modular solutions that deliver agile, continuous improvement.
  • and minimal false positives/negatives to maximise team’s productivity

The fight against money laundering, the crime that fuels crime like terrorism or human and drug trafficking, is way too important to leave up to auxiliary functions or systems that do a hundred things better than actually fighting financial crime.

Machines cannot marginalize the human experience. Humans are the specialists, and empowering specialists means creating systems that highlight, extend, and complement their capabilities and expertise.

We need technology that is made for humans. Technology that is understandable and collaborative in nature. Technology that brings together the best of human and artificial intelligence.
